Making pizza step by step
Serve 4 (make two 11×12 inches crispy pizza or one)
Ingredients and instructionPizza Dough: Makes 2 11×12 inch thin and crispy pizzas (or 1 thick pizza)
Step 1
1 cups water (120°F)
1 envelope (7g) of active dry yeast
2 teaspoons sugar
mix the above and let sit for 10 minutes
Step 2
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon oil
2 teaspoons salt
pour the mixture from Step 1 into a large bowl, add oil and salt and gradually add flour and stir well until the dough does not stick to your finger. Sprinkle some flour on your hands and on a clean and smooth surface such as a plastic chopping board. Knead the dough by hand (see future photos) for 10 minutes. Return the dough to the bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Store the bowl in the microwave for 60-90 minutes.
Step 3 (most challenging part!)
The dough should have doubled its size by now in the bowl. Remove the plastic cover and punch the dough down on the smooth surface so it deflates a bit. Divide the dough in half and form two round balls of dough.
Working one ball of dough at a time, take one ball of dough. Flatten it with a rolling pin. Then starting at the center and working outwards, use your fingertips to stretch it further.
Put each of them on a cooking sheet. You may need to stretch them further on the sheets. Gently pin some holes all over avoiding the hedge with a fork.
Pizza Toppings
Step 4 (funniest part)
Basic toppings
200 g tomato sauce or paste
100 g mozzarella cheese, shredded
Other toppings
1 bell pepper, sliced
100g mushroom, sliced
100g salami
Spoon on the tomato sauce, sprinkle with cheese, and place your desired toppings on the pizza.
Preheat the oven at 425 and bake for 15 minutes until golden.
